Uni Application CV Building Must-Haves

   • Shortly explain your tasks, responsibilities and achievements. 
   • Try and focus on transferable skills that will help you to be successful at other jobs as well.
5. Special skills. Include relevant skills and interests. Ex: foreign languages, web design, programming, etc.
6. Other “hook” factors (optional). You can add additional relevant details that would add a “hook” or “wow factor”.
7. References (optional), input the name and relationship you have with your referee.

Good Tips & Mistakes to Avoid?

Now that you know what goes into your CV, it's important to understand what you should leave out. Don't waste space and keep in mind the following:

• Avoid casual language or slang terms. CVs are formal documents and should be treated as such, even if the employer in question thinks of themselves as funky.

• Proofread your CV for typos and spelling mistakes. Even brilliant essay writers at university make errors of this type so check and double-check before sending it off.

• Limit your CV to be 1-2 pages. Don't include information on your CV that has already gone on an application form. Either cut your CV accordingly or include extra information you would otherwise have had to leave out. 

• A little work experience goes a long way when applying for your first job after graduating so don't be hesitant to mention things you have done in the past. Make sure that you are honest and accurate in your CV.
