Singapore is known as one of the countries in Asia that serves high-quality education. It has six national universities where two of them are highly-ranked worldwide: the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). No wonder it is also one of the top places for international students, with around 50,000 foreign students studying there. Specifically for Indonesian students, Singapore has the closest proximity so you don't have to be worried about the long distance with your beloved families. These are only a few of so many reasons why studying at university in Singapore could be the best choice for you!

The undergraduate or the bachelor's degrees in Singapore are taking three to four year to complete. For the master's degree, it normally takes a year to complete, and PhD courses usually take three to five years to complete. To enter Singapore universities, the first thing that you need to know is the application process in general. This article will give you 5 basic things you need to know to be admitted at university in Singapore, let's check these out!

Apply through respective universities

Unlike the admission in the US or EU countries, there is no centralized admission portal in Singapore. Your admission has to be made directly through the university of your choice. Since most of the admission process is in an online format, you need to visit each university's admission website and go along with the process. Remember, each university requires different admission, so make sure to always read thoroughly and follow the steps correctly!

Application mostly closes in March or April

Generally, applications to Singaporean universities close around March or April. If you're an international student and aiming to get a scholarship, then you should apply way earlier, in around January to February.

  • Photographs
  • Standardized admission test scores
  • Proof of language proficiency
  • Statement of purpose or motivation letter

As these are the documents needed in general, your choice of university may have different or additional documents you need to prepare. Make sure to check thoroughly and complete all the required documents.
