Breaking Down the Complete NTU Admissions Process ?

It's not a secret that Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is one of the best universities in Asia. With numerous programs offered that rank in the upper tier of university programs worldwide, many have dreamt of studying at NTU. Are you planning to study there? If so, let's have a look at the NTU admissions process!

General Requirements for International Admissions 

• Completed at least 12 years of general education 
• Satisfy the minimum subject requirements for the applied program (For more detail, check this out)
• English Language Proficiency test scores 
• NTU Entrance Examinations (if applicable)
• Submission of Supporting Documents
• Letters of Recommendation

English Language Proficiency 

As English is the primary language medium in NTU, you'll be required to submit proof of English language proficiency. The following are the minimum test scores required for admissions:

Note: 

• For IELTS, TOEFL, and PTE Academic tests, your scores should be obtained within 2 years of the application deadline. 
• The validity period for SAT and ACT is 5 years.
• IELTS Indicator and TOEFL iBT® Special Home Edition are acceptable.

Note for UK A-Level & International A-Level (IAL) holders 

From the 2022-2023 admission intake onwards, NTU is no longer accepting applications from UK A-Level and IAL holders (CIE/Edexcel/OCR/AQA) whose actual A-level results will be available in August of the application year. This is because the academic term has started and is too late for the school's consideration for admissions.

NTU Admissions Entrance Examination 

If deemed fit by the university, you may be required to sit for an NTU Entrance Examination before a final decision on admission can be made. Furthermore, if you hold the International Baccalaureate / IB Diploma or the A-Level certificates, you are not required to sit for the NTU Entrance Examination. 

Step 1: Apply Online

The application to undergraduate programs at NTU is done online, with no hard-copy application form. Therefore, a confirmation email will be sent along with your application number after you have successfully submitted the application form.

Step 2: Pay the Application fee 

NTU's undergraduate application fee is a non-refundable amount of SGD30 (by bank draft), or SGD20 (internet payment such as VISA/MasterCard) for international applicants. 

Step 3: Submission of Documents

The required supporting documents need to be submitted by the deadline above to complete the application. Moreover, all documents submitted during the application process need to be original drafts and in English or translated into English. Furthermore, the documents include: 

• Personal Identity - passport (international applicants without a passport may submit a birth certificate or personal identity card)
• High school transcript/certificate/diploma (GCE 'A' Level Statement of Results & Certificate, Indonesia SMA Rapor Sekolah & SMA UAN, International Baccalaureate Diploma)
• Secondary school result slip or certificate (e.g. IGCSE, GCE 'O' Level, Grade 10 transcript)
• English Proficiency test results (TOEFL/ TOEFL iBT ® Special Home Edition, SAT, IELTS/ IELTS Indicator, PTE Academic, ACT with Writing)
• International Olympiad Award Certificate (if available)
• Letters of Recommendation 
• Additional documents required for Art, Design, and Media Programs (Portfolio, Visual aptitude, Creative project, Personal statement, and writing sample)
